Role Description
This is a full-time Senior R&D Engineer (Medical Device) role based in Coimbatore with the option for some remote work. The Senior R&D Engineer will be responsible for developing and designing new medical devices and technologies for our healthcare solutions. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development of quality product designs, develop prototypes, and recommend enhancements to existing products to improve functionality. The Senior R&D Engineer will also participate in testing activities to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Experience Required In:
- Work Experience: Over 5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in designing schematics and PCBs, experience with microcontroller peripherals such as UART, PWM, SPI, I2C, ADC, DAC, etc., and hands- on experience in bringing up hardware with the support of the Software/Firmware team. Strong experience in C/C++ and Python. Experience in CAD tools such as SolidWorks is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of FDA requirements, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and GMP.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, proficient in designing experiments, analysing data, and using statistical methodologies. Experience in AI/ML is a plus.
- Strong management skills through the product development phases, m onitoring team metrics and objectives to ensure meeting of goals.
- Strong  written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required; an advanced degree in one of the above fields is preferred
- Experience in medical device design and development
- Familiarity with electronics, signal processing, sensors and control systems
- Experience with FDA regulations, design control and quality system regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Ability to develop and manage a project plan to ensure on-time delivery of new initiatives
