Job description
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement SAP change and release management processes for S/4HANA transformation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of SAP change and release management activities, including assessing impact, scheduling releases, and managing change requests for ECC and S/4HANA systems.
Develop and maintain release calendars, deployment plans, and rollback procedures to minimize business disruption and ensure successful delivery of changes to production environments.
Work closely with project managers, development teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize and manage change requests, balancing business needs with system stability and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure that release packages are properly deployed and validated in development, testing, and production environments.
Monitor and track change and release management metrics and KPIs and provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
Continuously evaluate and improve SAP change and release management processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance the overall quality of releases.
Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP change and release management, providing guidance, training, and support to project teams and stakeholders on best practices and governance standards.
Stay current with SAP technologies and industry trends related to change and release management, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new tools or methodologies to improve processes.
Document SAP change and release management procedures, standards, and best practices, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to SAP change and release management and S/4HANA transformation.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support SAP change and release management activities for S/4HANA transformation projects.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Overall 18+ years industry experience
8+ years of experience in SAP S4
Strong understanding of SAP change control processes, including managing transports, system landscapes, and release cycles.
In-depth knowledge of SAP transport management system (STMS) for configuring and managing transport routes, groups, and layers.
Hands-on experience with SAP Basis administration tasks, including system installations, upgrades, and client copies.
Familiarity with SAP transport management tools such as CTS+, SAP SLD (System Landscape Directory), and SAP Transport Organizer.
Expertise in analysing system landscapes and dependencies to assess the impact of changes and plan release schedules accordingly.
Experience working with development teams to package and release SAP transports, ensuring proper testing and validation in different environments.
Knowledge of SAP release strategy concepts, including release cycles, release types, and release profiles.
Proficient in SAP change request management processes, including documenting change requests, assessing risk, and obtaining approvals.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to SAP change and release management processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent release cycles for different SAP systems.
Experience working across US and multiple time zones.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Nice to HavePrevious medical device and/or work experience in an FDA regulated industry.
Experience in SAP Solution Manager functionalities -
o ChaRM (Change Request Management) for managing change requests, approvals, and documentation.
o maintenance optimizer, system monitoring, and business process monitoring.
