Job description
Project Planning:
- Develop detailed project plans for piping activities considering project timelines budgets and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to integrate piping plans into the overall project schedule.
Piping Design Review:
- Review and analyze piping design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with industry codes standards and project requirements.
- Work closely with the design team to identify and resolve any design issues or discrepancies.
Material Selection:
- Assist in selecting appropriate materials for piping systems based on project specifications codes and environmental conditions.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely and costeffective sourcing of piping materials.
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare cost estimates for piping materials labor and other resources required for the project.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle identifying and addressing cost overruns or deviations from the budget.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments related to piping activities and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all piping planning activities.
Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with various project stakeholders including engineers designers procurement teams and construction teams.
- Maintain effective communication channels to ensure that all parties are informed of the progress challenges and changes in the piping plans.
Quality Control:
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure that piping systems meet the required standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all piping planning activities including drawings specifications reports and correspondence.
- Ensure that asbuilt documentation accurately reflects the final installed piping systems.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in piping engineering and planning.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME API etc.).
- Proficiency in piping design software and project management tools.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in the industry.
Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in piping design and engineering. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or similar tools. Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes related to piping design (e.g., ASME, API). Familiarity with pipe stress analysis software is advantageous. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
