About the role: position summary & main tasks/activities
- To assist interpreting the valuation and risk of financial products, including insurance contracts, capital market products and financial derivatives.
- To evaluate the key drivers of risk metrics and clearly articulate actionable feedback on events, exposures and issues which impact Swiss Re's financial risk profile.
- To build reports and analysis for senior management in order to understand the analysis of change.
- To assess the credit worthiness of countries and counterparties and propose internal credit ratings.
To monitor risk accumulation against limits at various legal entity levels.
About The Team Solvency and Financial Risk Management is a diversified and multinational team with offices located in Armonk, Bangalore, London, New York and Zurich. We are responsible for controlling and collecting all financial risk accumulations within Swiss Re and we operate closely with major financial risk takers. Financial risks are prevalent across Swiss Re, from Asset Liability Management driven investment mandates to the risks embedded in structured insurance transactions. We ensure that all financial risks are fully understood, appropriately governed and valued as well as transparently monitored and controlled.
About You - You have successfully completed or are in the final year of a university degree, preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Commerce.
- Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture.
- You have good communication (English) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global environment.
- You are confident; able to work with business partners or senior colleagues.
- You have basic understanding of financial products and insurance products.
- CQF, FRM, CFA, Actuarial certifications will be a strong plus.
Good knowledge of any programming language, e.g. Python, R would be an added advantage.
