Job description
Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. The role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities related to the procurement, production, processing, and distribution of the company's food products. The aim is to achieve cost-effective operations while maintaining high quality and safety standards, meeting customer requirements, and supporting the company's expansion goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with company goals, including cost reduction, supply chain integration, and sustainability
- Manage and optimize supply chain processes, including procurement, production planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution
- Coordinate with department heads to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply and inventory levels, avoiding overstocking and out-of-stocks
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services
- Oversee the import and export processes, ensuring compliance with international and local regulations and customs requirements
- Implement and monitor the performance of supply chain KPIs to assess operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the ERP and other systems effectively support supply chain operations and provide accurate reporting
- Manage and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and high performance
- Stay informed of advancements in supply chain technology and practices, and recommend adoption where beneficial
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the food industry or FMCG sector
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices, including GMP and FSSC 22000 standards
- Proven experience in managing and improving supply chain operations, including logistics, procurement, and inventory management
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing contracts
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One, and supply chain management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Fluent in English and Arabic
