Your Team Responsibilities

Data, AI, and Machine Learning are rapidly changing the world of finance and MSCI is leading the charge. The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading without authority in a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver measurable customer value with broad business impact.

As a Technical PM in the AI & Data team, you will own & solve some of the hardest technical & business problems in Data ingestion, collection and production using AI, LLMS (Generative AI) and distributed data systems running at massive scale. You will get to work with an amazing team of motivated individuals to build mission critical Generative AI solutions for the FinTech industry and Data Platforms in the cloud that power the next wave of innovations in investment decision making across the planet. You will help jump-start a revolution in the financial investment industry by creating and delivering highly available, mission critical and globally scalable AI solutions in the cloud to our clients across Risk Signal Analytics, Customized Indexing, Environmental, Social & Corporate (ESG) & Climate exposures, and Quantitative Research & Data Science. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Own the 'What + Why' – Start with the customer and work backwards, including vision, strategy, long-term goals, customer & market feedback, competitive analysis, success metrics and all aspects of future roadmap, investment, innovation, monetization, and experimentation with data driven decisions.
  • Influence the 'How' – Collaborate with peers across MSCI to deliver products & features as committed, on time, on budget and at high quality, partner with clients & stakeholders at all levels to assess, initiate, prioritize, refine, and drive product backlogs, create MVPs, user stories & acceptance criteria that represent customer requirements, help resolve complex technical trade-offs, and drive innovations to improve Reliability, Availability , Performance, Security, Usability, Net Promoter scores (NPS) and customer satisfaction scores (CSAT).
  • Delight Customers – Own & drive requirements for private/public previews/GA, the 'Go to Market' plan and measures of success to ensure customer & business goals are met in operational & launch plans, monitor, triage and respond to customer feedback to improve our products continuously.

Your Skills And Experience That Will Help You Excel

  • Deep experience in owning and driving the 'What & Why', technical depth to influence the 'How', driving execution across globally matrixed teams, making reversible decisions and critical trade-offs.
  • Passion for all things AI, Machine Learning and Data. Strong track record of delivering technical AI/data products or data services.
  • Degree in computer science or related technical, math, or scientific field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred 15+ years of experience, 10+ years of which must be as a hands-on Product manager technical or technical Program Manager.
  • Experience defining success metrics & outcomes and making data driven decisions to influence feature trade-offs and priorities.
  • Experience working with customers, technical teams, and stakeholders to collect and translate customer/business needs into detailed product requirements and user stories.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle, Alibaba, ...) used as the technology building blocks
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, specifically writing skills and, formal presentation skills to engineers, leadership, non-technical partners, and customers.
  • Experience working on agile development teams. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle.
  • Track record of problem solving and using pilot programs, prototypes, and growth hacking approaches.
