Job description

About the Role:

This critical position is responsible for developing the content, programs, and experiences of several Gartner Conferences, as well as overall management of those Conferences.

The Program Manager owns the conference(s) assigned and is tasked to drive two key activities.

  • Develop the Conference strategy and business cases for driving growth, profitability and retention
  • Work with the Conference Chair to create the most compelling attendee-driven conference agenda based on market needs and requirements.

To achieve desired results, the Program Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders including:

  • Gartner Research and Gartner Consulting
  • Audience Acquisition / Marketing / Conference Attendee Sales
  • Sponsorship Sales
  • Conference Operations / Logistics
  • Research Marketing and Sales
  • Executive Programs

What you'll do:

  • Drive primary and secondary market research in order to understand client issues and drive Gartner Conferences positioning and growth.
  • Identify and define target audience for his or her conferences.
  • Identify and define sponsorship opportunities for his or her conferences.
  • Identify and evaluate competitive conferences, including attending competitive conferences.
  • Create client-focused programs that will deliver the highest results.
  • Evangelize and promote portfolio conferences to internal and external constituents.
  • Innovate conference experiences, content and formats.
  • Contribute to creating the conference or portfolio strategy, in collaboration with other global colleagues & stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Conferences Marketing to create compelling messaging and campaigns to drive growth and increase retention, as well as assist in the development of partnerships with associates, user groups, and media sources.
  • Collaborate with Conferences Sales to identify prospective sponsors/exhibitors, accelerate the sales process and increase retention.
  • Collaborate with Conferences Operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions to achieve optimal attendee and sponsor experiences
  • Collaborate with Gartner Research Sales and Executive Programs to ensure we deliver a great client experience by working on interactive session topics and facilitator selections and delivery.
  • Secure keynote speakers, panels and case studies.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field is a must.
  • 2- 5 years' relevant experience in event program management including content agenda creation & speaker management preferred.
  • Conference or content-rich program planning experience is a must.
  • Proven track record creating and executing strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and ability to influence.
  • Desire for global / multinational conference experience
  • Good multi-project management, prioritization, time management capacity
  • Experience with India and Middle East markets a plus.
  • IT familiarity or interest a plus
  • Ability to engage effectively with C-level executives.
  • Ability to accommodate moderate travel to approx. 7 conferences annually, domestic and international (approx. 15%).
