Job description

GM / Senior GM

Location: Bengaluru / Chennai   

Job Purpose:

The position will be in charge of complete B2B business for Cables division in Southern region of India. He will be primarly handling the LT Cables, Control Cables, HT Cables, Solar Cables, Elastomeric cables and other product categories. Develop relationship with key influencers and end customers for adding new customers and maintaining existing customer base.  Responsible for achieving sales target from the assigned Key account customers in the Southern region. He will be managing a team of Key Account Managers in all the five states of Southern India.                                                                                                      

Strategy and planning for his region and AOP preparation in consultation with NSM / HOD and as per the guideline                                               

Manage team of Key Account Managers for executing his Sales strategy and ensure proper staffing of the team as per the agreed                                           

Responsible for achieving Cables Sales target as per AOP by expanding business with existing direct customers such as Utilities, Industries, EPC contractors, Renewable energy etc                                          

Responsible for new customer development along with required approvals with end customers, consultants, architects, govt departments etc                                               

Responsible for P&L of his region                                              

Sales infrastructure & planning -- forecasting, budgeting, logistics, storage etc.                                     

Work closely with the Marketing team for participating in various exhibitions, marketing campaigns etc for improving visibility and brand image of company                                   

Work closely with SCM/factory team to ensure availability of the product in the market, responsible for stock levels and non-moving inventory at depots in South                                     

Periodic Team review and guidance to team and implementing correcting measures for achieving targeted results                                               

Attending Annual/Quarterly/Monthly Review with management, Providing Market intelligence, MIS for Management and Presentations                                           

Key Relationships                                            

Sales team, Customers, Consultants etc                                 

Plant Heads, Commercial, Marketing Head, HR Partner and Senior Management                                 

Education

A graduate degree preferably an engineer / MBA                                              

Experience

Minimum 20 years of experience in B2B business of Electrical products like cables & wires, switchgears, electrical motors etc                                          

Must have worked as an Regional Manager of South or State Head in multiple southern states dealing with electrical products                                             

Should have sound technical knowledge of the products along with understanding of the customer segment and industry                                              

Should have experience of establishing a new or a lesser known brand in South Market
