Reporting Structure: Reports to Head of Ophthalmology
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmologist Phaco Surgeon to join our prestigious ophthalmology department. As an Ophthalmologist Phaco Surgeon you will play a critical role in providing highquality eye care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing phacoemulsification surgeries diagnosing and treating eye conditions and managing patient care throughout the entire surgical process.
In this role you will collaborate with a team of experienced ophthalmologists optometrists and other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Your expertise in phacoemulsification techniques and your ability to stay uptodate with the latest advancements in ophthalmology will be essential in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform phacoemulsification surgeries to remove cataracts and restore vision
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions including glaucoma macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess patients visual acuity and overall eye health
- Prescribe and administer medications eye drops and other treatments as necessary
- Collaborate with other ophthalmologists optometrists and medical professionals to develop treatment plans and provide comprehensive care
- Stay uptodate with advancements in ophthalmology and participate in continuing education and professional development activities
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information
- Provide guidance and support to ophthalmology residents and fellows
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification in Ophthalmology
- Completion of a fellowship in Phacoemulsification Surgery
- Valid medical license to practice as an Ophthalmologist
- Proven experience in performing phacoemulsification surgeries
- Excellent knowledge of ophthalmic diseases conditions and treatment options
- Strong diagnostic and problemsolving skills
- Exceptional handeye coordination and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
