JOB SCOPE

Role : IT L2 Network Engineer

This position is for Network Expert to be a part of Global Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) team to provide L2 support in 24*7 rotational shift.

The Network Technicians role is to support the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. The person will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and support where required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain, upgrade, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot networking hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling
• Maintain all Juniper network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, hubs
• Maintain all Avaya voice infrastructure and equipment including operational support and triage
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports Leveraging toolkits like Solarwinds and AppNeta
• Receive, respond and resolve incoming incidents and requests under agreed SLAs regarding telecommunications systems and network
• Perform remote analyze, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory
• Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data
• Liaise with, and provide training and support to, help desk support staff on network issues.
• Perform network equipment updates and respond to security audits
• Perform system backups and recovery
• Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required
• Operational experience with or immediate on the job training in F5 and Palo Alto Networks security equipment will need to be achieved

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Qualifications Required: BE, MSc, MCA, Computer Science or related discipline.
2. Experience (Years): Minimum 4 years related experience
3. Technologies required: Experience working on Juniper or Cis. Expertise on security (Palo Alto), wireless technologies (Aruba) will be definitely be a plus
4. Information Technology

• Extensive technical knowledge of Juniper network operating systems and technologies, protocols and standards, networking hardware and software solutions including but not limited to
• Ability to operate network component analyzers, scanners, and testers.
• Hands-on network troubleshooting experience.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes and best practise
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Must be highly-motivated and have a positive attitude
• Excellent listening and customer service skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Must be a team player
• Must be mature and tactful
• Understanding of SLA terms
• Proven track record working in a global and multicultural environment
