Summary

Engine Clearances is a critical domain for aircraft engines as it impacts the product design from conceptual design thru engine certification and entry into service. The main objective of the engine clearances team is to develop an architecture/product design ensuring safety & reliability while finding an optimal balance between performance, weight & cost. The team is critical to realizing Aerospaces noble vision in developing next generation RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engine) engines.

The main responsibilities for this role include, but not limited to, perform accurate clearances analyses & pre-test prediction through whole engine modeling to complement mechanical design, contribute
towards technology maturation, advance state of the art in predictive methods and collaboratively work across multiple teams, organizations & global sites to share knowledge base.


Roles and Responsibilities

Independent execution with direction from experts on analysis and design of clearances for nextgen sustainable engine programs to develop technologies meeting ambitious performance & environmental goals.
Understand key business drivers, contribute towards developing program plan and deliver impactful business outcomes. Integrate work of self/team with other teams and contribute to broader business objectives.
Contribute to solving tough technical challenges, as an integral part of a collaborative global team.
Propose innovative solutions and proactively protect competitive advantage by filing IP.
Present in global reviews with peers/experts, Chief Engineers Office and Systems organization.
Ensure proper documentation of technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Good interpersonal skills, flexibility to work on a wide variety of problems/programs of interest to Aerospace.
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
Continuous learning and constant drive for continuous improvement of tools/processes.
Contribute to/promote a culture of inclusion & diversity

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis of aircraft engine models 

Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering with excellent academic background
In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
Proficiency in application of HYPERMESH, Unigraphics, ANSYS software
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to meet stringent deadlines and commitments
