The Role:
In the role of Leader - Transactions and M&A Practice, you will lead a critical Center of Excellence at Turbostart, specializing in providing strategic guidance and expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and transactional matters to our startup portfolio. Your primary focus will be on driving M&A activities, investments, and strategic transactions for our startup ecosystem, however a holistic understanding of legal, tax, and accounting services is essential.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Leadership in Transactions and M&A:
- Lead from an entrepreneurial mindset, including managing the P&L and spearheading initiatives that enhance service offerings, drive growth, and cement our position as an innovative leader in startup services.
- Spearhead and execute M&A strategies by interpreting complex tax and regulatory laws/ provisions relating to corporate transactions.
- Provide expert guidance on complex transactional matters, including investment structuring, partnerships, and exit strategies, in the most tax efficient manner.
- Navigate the complexities of cross-border transactions, and deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
Service Delivery and Holistic Support:
- Ensure the highest quality of legal, tax, HR, financial, and accounting services are provided to startups, with a strong emphasis on transactions and M&A.
- Collaborate with your team to help startups navigate the complexities of transactions, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Operational and People Management:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Center, promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and a culture of excellence, with a specific focus on transactional support.
- Attract, develop, and retain a team of top-tier professionals, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and high performance in the realm of M&A.
Partnership and Community Building:
- Cultivate relationships with startups, understanding their unique M&A needs and ensuring the Center's services effectively address them.
- Engage with industry partners, stakeholders, and the entrepreneurial community to enhance visibility and build a network of collaboration, with a particular focus on transaction-related opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), or Masters in Law or a related field, with a comprehensive understanding of legal, financial, HR, and tax domains, particularly in the context of M&A and transactions.
- Proven leadership experience, preferably at a Director level or above, with a background in M&A, investment banking, or related fields.
- Demonstrable experience in leading M&A transactions, investments, and strategic deals.
- Strong strategic, operational, and people management skills, coupled with an entrepreneurial drive.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
