Backup and Storage Admin - Infra Compute
Job Description:
Backup and Storage administrator will be part of the IT Infrastructure team that provides design, deployment & support for systems, services, and requirements in Flipkart locations. The IT Infrastructure team is also responsible for managing heterogeneous environments & generating metrics related to system performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, etc.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the backup infrastructure services including Commvault VEEAM, capacity planning, migration, Upgrade, firmware upgrades etc. The responsibilities also include the management of the different storage infrastructure including, Dell-EMC, NetApp, Hitachi arrays deployed at different locations.
Responsibilities:-
- Take care of the day to day backup activities which include completing the daily reports and effectively work on Incident Management/Change Management/ Problem Management
- Monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action.
- Exposure to TCP/IP networks and protocols, server hardware and storage devices (Storage appliances, CIFS, NAS and SAN)
- Proficient in creation and configuration of backup policies such as file systems, SQL, VMware, Oracle, MySQL, NDMP etc
- Implement and manage backup and restore in a heterogeneous environment.
- Configure the replication to DR site and checking the data integrity in DR site
- Create and edit documentation for the Backup and storage environment.
- Identify and manage support issues, coordinate with support vendors/OEMs to resolve complex issues.
- Provide health and performance report and take appropriate actions based on trends in storage utilization
- Communicate with key leadership and recommend changes or improvements.
- Involve in troubleshooting complex computing platforms, storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, and/or innovative technologies involving virtualization, and high availability.
- Storage zoning configurations, Pool creation, expansion, LUN migration etc.
- Face security audits and work on the findings.
Desired Skills
- Understanding of VMware VSAN, Nutanix HCI
- Working knowledge of Azure or GCP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of server systems, application processes, and networking technology.

Education/Qualification : 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology 5+ years of experience with Backup administration. 5+ years of experience on Storage administration, Dell, EMC, Hitachi, NetApp etc Diploma, BE in Electronics/Computer Science or equivalent required. Shou
