The main function of a HIL Test Engineer at this level is to apply configuration skills at an intermediate to high level. The Test Engineer will analyse, design and develop test plans and should be familiar with any programming language (Preferably Python).
Job Responsibilities: -
- Setup specialized dSpace HIL test bench and execute Hardware modifications per cross-functional test requests.
- Participate in design of HIL rigs to fault tracing and maintenance.
- Create technical specification, be involved in the procurement process of required equipment, build up assemble and configure the test environment.
- Develop and calibrate HIL plant models if required.
- Work cross-functionally with Systems and, software developers to incorporate and adapt best practices to real time HIL based validation testing.
- Troubleshoot and provide creative, technically feasible solutions to problems encountered during development and post-production.
- Perform repeatable testing procedures and processes (such as Regression tests).
- Development Test plans compatible to run on both Functional and Regression test.
- Designs and develops robust automated test harnesses with a focus on Application/System/Inter-System level issues.
Skills : -
- 7+ years of experience with BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with relevant experience.
- Experienced in HIL or model-based validation of automotive systems and features.
- Experienced in dSPACE S/W tools like Control Desk or Automationdesk or Configuration Desk.
- Experienced or Knowledgeable on dSPACE H/W tools like GSI2 card.
- Experienced or Knowledgeable in Python scripting.
- Experienced in interpreting SW functional requirements and developing/documenting test plans
- Experienced with MATLAB Simulink and Simscape.
- Experienced with CANape, and CANalyzer
- Experienced with HIL testing using dSpace (PHS or Scalexio), OPAL RT or similar
- Experience of working with version control systems, e.g, GIT, SVN
- Experienced in automotive architectures
- Knowledge in protocols, Ethernet, CAN, CAN FD, J1939
- Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve work environment, systems, tools, processes as well as product cost and quality
- Work independently and meet deadlines
Desired Skills:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of CAN/J1939 network protocols
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Automotive safety standards
