Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Qualifications Officer to be responsible for the standards and quality of CILEX End-Point Assessment (EPA).

 
Contract: Full time, 18-month fixed term contract 

 
Location: Remote with in-person attendance required approximately 6 to 9 times per year 

 
The Role

 
To recruit, contract, and monitor assessors in accordance with CILEX procedures. 
To manage the training of assessors. 

To support the production of valid and reliable online assessment materials for a range of CILEX qualification units in accordance with CILEX quality assurance policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.   

To oversee marking, standardisation, moderation and internal quality assurance to ensure timelines are met, significant issues are escalated to deliver accurate results for each assessment window.   

To manage assessor conflicts of interest ensuring the appropriate controls are implemented. 

To produce and maintain End-Point Assessment Materials for CILEX’s EPA offer. 

To engage with key stakeholders, understanding their needs and requirements, ensuring a quality service is provided. 

 
What We’re Looking For

 
The ideal candidate will have the following: 

 
Essential: 

 
Educated to degree level or equivalent. 

Experience of assessment material production for an awarding organisation, End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO), professional body or education establishment.  

Experience of quality assurance systems and processes supporting qualification and assessment delivery within an Awarding Organisation, EPAO, professional body or education establishment. 

Experience of managing teams of external assessors. 

 
Desirable: 

 
A qualification at Level 3 or above in qualification/assessment principles and practice.  

A legal qualification. 

Experience of End-Point Assessment delivery for apprenticeships 

Experience of delivering a range of different assessment methods, for example, exams, projects, portfolios, professional discussions and interviews. 

 

Skills and Attributes: 

Good understanding and application of assessment principles and practices. 
Good understanding of assessment design. 
Working knowledge of Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA regulatory conditions and ESFA and IfATE requirement for End-Point Assessment Organisations. 
Willingness to embrace new ideas, adopt a flexible attitude and take on cross-team responsibilities. 
Motivated, pro-active and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work on own initiative. 
Results-driven focus on adding value. 
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and meet deadlines. 
Effective problem-solving skills. 
Good proof-reading skills and attention to detail. 
Collaborative, considerate approach to working well as part of a team. 
Ability to manage off-payroll staff under standard terms and conditions. 
Good awareness of customer service principles. 
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). 
Strong analytical and IT skills using a range of packages including Excel.
