Position: Investment & Fund Administrator

Reports to: General Partners

Department: Tax, Compliance, Accounting, Finance

Location: Mumbai / Remote (India)

Role Summary

As an Investment Administrator at Ahimsa Capital, your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance on US tax and compliance rules, and execution of all areas of compliance, tax and administration in relation to several investment entities, both in the form of SPVs and multi-investment entities.

This is a growth role in a young and rapidly expanding firm. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely with international colleagues in the US.

Role Responsibilities

Provide fund accounting, tax compliance, and outsourced CFO services per GAAP for all Investment entities.

Manage external service providers in the areas of fund accounting, custody, and fund administration.

Stay updated on the latest tax laws, rules, regulations, and codes related to LLCs and traditional fund entities.

Ensure accurate and timely tax filing and other compliances for each investment entity.

Identify opportunities for tax savings and tax-efficient approaches.

Prepare and present customized quarterly investment reporting and tax packets including issuing K-1s for each client, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Ensure appropriate administration and handling of management fees and carried interest earnings.

Bookkeeping of each entity.

Maintain tracker of each investment entity, each investment made by each entity, Limited Partners, together with dates and mark-to-market values.

Maintain file organization of all subscription documents and related investment documentation.

Facilitate execution of new investment documents with investors via Docusign.

Executing new investments from each fund as well as exiting and managing distributions to each investor.

Evaluate tech platforms to centralize information and reporting for funds and investors i.e. AngelList, Carta, Arch, etc.

Role Requirements

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CA/CPA qualification preferred

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with US taxes and compliances

Strong knowledge of US tax laws, particularly in relation to funds and LLCs.

Previous experience working with US-based clients and companies.

Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.

Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to work independently.

Familiarity with tax software and tools commonly used in the industry.
