We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise primarily in MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and SolarWinds DPA with good to have knowledge in Oracle DB coupled with strong T-SQL skills and a demonstrated ability to optimize database performance. In this role the candidate will be responsible to handle enterprise and client facing Database environment in a 24x7 setup who is technically very strong and understands and articulates both verbal and oral communications. As a senior resource, candidate will take lead and responsibility to drive project outcomes and be accountable for success of the team.

· Manage and administer MS SQL Server, MongoDB databases in a high-availability environment, knowledge of Oracle Database is a added advantage

· Experienced in setting up High availability solutions for redundancy and DR

· Monitor and perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.

· Understand various Enterprise services under DB support and possess strong T-SQL skills to write and optimize complex queries for enhanced database performance.

· Collaborate with development teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks in the application.

· Collaborate with application architects and development teams to ensure database architecture aligns with business objectives.

· Conduct thorough performance analysis and optimization of SQL Server databases to ensure optimal response times and resource utilization.

· Implement best practices for indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.

· Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server.

· Implement and maintain SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) for comprehensive database monitoring

· Proactively respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal database performance.

· Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

· Contribute to hiring, training, and development initiatives within the database administration team.

· Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive data.

· Design and enforce security policies, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data.

· Ensure databases comply with industry regulations and internal security policies.

· Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine database tasks to streamline operations.

· Implement PowerShell or other scripting solutions to enhance database management efficiency.

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

· Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles for the database administration team.

· Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate databases with enterprise applications and systems.

· Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the database administration team.

· Ability to understand the existing systems and suggest enhancement or provide architectural directions and guidelines

· Ability to maintain and upgrade to newer versions of SQL server

· Ability to handle SSIS, SSRS, SSAS components of SQL server

Skills & Other Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 10-12 years of progressive experience in SQL Server database administration, design, and architecture.

· Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

· In-depth knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.

· Experience with database automation, scripting, and capacity planning.

Preferred Skills:

· Certification in Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

· Familiarity with other database technologies (NoSQL, Cloud-based databases like Amazon RDS, OracleDB)

· Experience in Database Performance Monitoring via tools like solarwinds DPA

· Experience in migrating databases to newer versions and cloud migration experience is a added advantage

· Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server.

· Strong PowerShell scripting skills (3-4+ years) is a plus.

· Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the database management space.
