The opportunity
This roles in Product Engineering provides an advanced level technical and management service to support major Design, Architect, & Implementation activities in Information Technology (IT) Data Network. The role is responsible to Design, Architect, Implement, & Life Cycle Management of all request concerning data network connectivity that affect EY’s clients and to provide appropriate solution within the standards of the Service level Agreement (SLA) between IT and EY business teams. The role maintains and validate the accurate information and data regarding engineering and design tools like ServiceNow, and maintains compliance with EY’s policies and standards in all actions taken in developing a solution. The role is expected to engage with various product vendors and arrive at a best suitable design involving latest technology standards that meets the business requirements. Knowledge on EY Technology IT processes and various functional teams within EY Technology are highly desirable. Awareness of product management methods, tools and quality assurance are also required.
Your key responsibilities
- Act as a L4 escalation point and provide appropriate methodologies for design, solution development, and direct complex restorative and maintenance actions. This includes advanced troubleshooting and applied technical skills required to restore current services in IT Data Network. Identify and capture best practices, designs, relevant technical documentation in the tools to improve reliability, availability & cost of ownership.
- Perform all activities in accordance with EY’s compliance policies and IT Service processes to provide design, solutions, and restorative actions that are within scope and aligned with the business requirement.
- Plan, design, and collaborate with other relevant teams to ensure best-in-class monitoring and alerting for EY Remote Access environment for EY
- Identify, implement, and govern continuous improvement areas for monitoring, alerting, and reporting requirements as per the EY Standards.
- Participate in or manage solution development and discussions with vendor resources and other technical teams. Identify and share best practices to plan, design, implement, and operate data network services in the EY Remote Access Area.
- Develop an understanding of EY’s business, the interconnectivity to IT operational readiness model, and the forward strategy for improvements and strategic enhancements in the data network. Maintain thought leadership in guiding conversations. Advise business leads and others in IT on procedures for appropriate collaborative activities or opportunities for harmonization in network services aligned to the remit of the role.
- Share best practices with team and peers and ensure the implementation of best practices to promote continuous improvement within the team and cross-unit consistencies between IT departments. Mentor and train staff in aspects of network technology as a thought leader in the same.
- Attend governance calls with vendor and review their performance against KPIs, SLAs, and continual improvements.
- Convert the business requirements in the area of EY Remote Access Network into technical blueprints as per the EY Standards.
- Interact continuously with technical vendors and managed service providers to ensure the EY Remote Access Network meets the requirements set forth by EY.
- Work closely with leadership by providing timely suggestions on product life cycle, upgrade options, technology roadmaps, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the cost by ensuring the fit-for-purpose solutions in the area of EY Remote Access Network including switching, routing, Load balancer, and related technologies.
- Be responsible for the EY Remote Access network & actively pursue and apply automation methods that can optimize the EY Remote Access network environment and benefit the end users.
- Be a single point of contact for any escalation specific to EY Remote Access Network design, architecture. Work with various technology vendors, Internal Teams to develop solutions in a timely manner.
- Work closely with respective product owners and develop joint action plans to improve quality, productivity and efficiency and drive implementation.
- Work closely with operational excellence and drive improvements specific to EY Remote Access Network
- Bring ideas of automation, auto-remediation specific to EY Remote Access Network and get the vendor to execute and implement.
- Identify the risks in operations management, develop mitigations and plans and implement them.
Skills and attributes for success
- Network Security Concepts: Profound knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), encryption, authentication, access control, intrusion detection/prevention, and security best practices.
- SonicWall Product Line: Expertise in SonicWall's remote connectivity solutions, including SonicWall firewall appliances, Secure Mobile Access (SMA) appliances, and the SonicWall VPN client. Understanding their features, capabilities, and configurations.
- Remote Access VPN: Proficiency in configuring and managing remote access VPN solutions, including SSL VPN (Secure Sockets Layer VPN) and IPsec VPN (Internet Protocol Security VPN).
- SSL/TLS: Understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, certificates, and their role in establishing secure connections for remote users.
- Clientless Access: Knowledge of clientless VPN access methods, allowing users to access internal resources without installing additional software.
- Two-Factor Authentication: Configuring and managing two-factor authentication (2FA) mechanisms for enhancing remote access security.
- Endpoint Security: Familiarity with endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, anti-malware, and host intrusion prevention systems (HIPS).
- Network Design and Architecture: Ability to design and architect secure remote access solutions, considering scalability, redundancy, and security requirements.
- Authentication Protocols: Proficiency in authentication protocols such as LDAP, RADIUS, and Active Directory for user authentication and authorization.
- Firewall Rules: Configuring firewall rules and access policies to control inbound and outbound traffic, ensuring proper access control.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve remote access issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and log analysis.
- Security Policies: Defining and enforcing security policies for remote access users, including application-level access control and content filtering.
- High Availability and Redundancy: Configuring high availability and failover mechanisms for SonicWall devices to ensure uninterrupted remote access.
- Automation and Orchestration: Familiarity with automation tools, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and APIs for streamlining configuration and management tasks.
- Continuous Learning: The field of network security evolves rapidly. Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies is crucial. Firmware Updates and Patch Management: Ensuring that access points and network components are up to date with the latest firmware and security patches.
- Documentation: Strong documentation skills to create comprehensive network diagrams, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Solid understanding of technical concepts in the areas of Domain Name System (DNS), DHCP,IPAM, load balancers (Citrix / F5), Switching and Routing, SDWAN, WAN Optimizers, End user operating systems.
- Possesses a solid working knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to recognize appropriate aspects in the Incident, Problem, Change and Availability processes as it related to Data Network activities and workflows.
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of IT end - to- end processes and operating environment to support proper recognition of issues or to recognize and position improvement opportunities as a way to properly support the mandate of the role in technical support
- Knowledge on network infrastructure and application monitoring tools
- Experience in automation, auto-remediation, self-healing technologies, process automation
- Experience in driving continual improvement projects
- Understanding of multi-supplier integration models; ability to collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to drive service improvements and reduce cost of delivery
- Good understanding of data analytics, dashboards and how to effectively use them
- Guide a virtual team of EY internal and vendor resources in troubleshooting calls and restore services with minimal or no impact to business.
To qualify for the role you must have
Education:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Business Management or equivalent
Experience:
- 10 - 15 years of experience in Network infrastructure are with last 5 years in Design & Architecture.
Certification Requirements:
- SonicWall Certified Network Security Administrator (CNSA) / SonicWall Certified Network Security Professional (CNSP)
- TOGAF
- ITIL V4
