JOB DESCRIPTION :
Objective/Mission: Senior engineer with experience in Protection Application knowledge in EHV, HV, MV and LV system including Generator, Transformer, Distance, Line Differential, Busbar, Motor and Overcurrent protection.
Primarily to perform Application design, Protection Relay setting calculations, Relay configuration and Testing. Analyze and trouble shoot site facing issues by collecting the details including event and fault reports.
- Provides technical complex designs and optimizations to customer projects & services teams, by having solid technical knowledge and knowhow in an application domain or subdomain
- Understands customer needs and translates them into technical requirements; may help customers to define their needs
- Helps establish project or service technical strategies, internal procedures & best practices in application domain/subdomain
- Communicates results, issues and solutions internally and to customers
- Troubleshoots product and system issues related to his/her application domain/subdomain;
- Provides some commercial argumentation to project teams or management, and identifies & reports potential technical risks if any
- Provide coaching & training as well as instructions/assistance to Protection Engineers (DAT3 & DAT4)
Scope and Environment Works both in autonomy and in team work, with contribution to optimize and secure project or service teams' technical solution designs.
Works for internal project and service technical teams (i.e. for DPT, DQT, DCT job family codes) along all the customer installation lifecycle, with direct interaction with external stakeholders/customers related to his/her application domain/subdomain.
Key activities and Responsibility Customer and/or Partner relationships: - Drives interactions with customer on technical topics. Understands customer specifications and translate/explain them to other project members; challenges those requirements versus SE available solutions & capabilities.
Internal & External Exposure: - Influences and challenges internal project teams on the technical choices related to application domain/subdomain and ensure convergence of the project team towards the best solution; delivers and presents results and argumentations (technical reports, presentations, etc) - not limited to the project team. May participate in technical internal working groups related to application domain/subdomain and in technical communication initiatives.
Project and Risk Management: - Knows the fundamentals of Project Management to aware of the Cost/Quality targets (mainly related to work); identifies and alerts in case of any deviations from the standard scope of work related to application domain/subdomain; issues regular progress reports to the project team; detects technical variation order opportunities related to application domain/subdomain.
Technical knowledge and Engineering: - Applies engineering best practices & standards; has solid knowledge of the product & system offers (internal & external) related to application domain and subdomain. Carries out detailed engineering work and provide associated reporting to project team members; knows and uses the methods & tools related to application domain/subdomain, and may participate in improvement workshops on those methods & tools.
Training and coaching: - Exchanges and shares your knowledge peers; gather feedback from other application design engineers; participates in the development of training modules or presentations about his/her application domain/subdomain.
Job Related Expérience, Skill and Responsibility: - Expereince in Protection Application design knowledge in EHV, HV, MV & LV system
- Knowledge of various protection applications including Generator, Transformer, Line, Busbar, Motor and Overcurrent
- Perform CT, VT calcualiton, Protection realy setting calculation and detailed report preparation
- Relay setting & logic file preparation including CID/ICD file, Testing and Valdiation
- Preparation of engineering documents such as Protection Conceptual Design, FAT & SAT Test Plans
- Application support during tender stage by providing Relay selection, Technical deviation and man-day estimation
- Provide customer training on Application and protection Relays
- Familiarity and Work experience with all ranges of SE numerical relays
- ABB, Simenes, GE, SEL & others makes relays knowledge and work experience will be an added advantages
- Customer FAT and Site commissioning experience is must
- Power system knowledge and ETAP tool experience is an added advantage
- System study including Load flow, Short circuite and Overcurrent cooirdation experience is add an advantage
- Basic understanding of SCADA and Communication protocols including IEC61850, Modbus, etc is must
- Ready for travel and overseas deputations for FAT and Site Commissioning
- To coordinate with Internal or end customer for technical cooridantion and documents approval
- Good in english communications (written and verbal)
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with all internal & external stake holders during project execution/ Sitecommissioning at site
- Familiar with IEC & ANSI standard Knowledge
- International project execution experience will be an added advantage
- Power, Utility, Data Center, O&G segment work experience will add on advantage
- Familiar and working experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) Main responsibilities
Responsibilities in terms of quality and safety/security : Ø Implementation of international ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 18000 HSE and ISO14000 environmental standards
Ø Fully respect to Safety standards during all project execution
Qualifications Qualifications B.E/B.Tech Electrical engineering
Minimum 10 Years Of Experience In Relevant Field Schedule: Full-time
