The Foundation Automation, Standards, and Tooling (FAST) team is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and support scalable methods for building, deploying, and supporting Azure applications. This is a highly collaborative role in which you will work closely with our Software and Infrastructure Engineers to deploy and operate our solutions; automate and streamline our processes; and build and maintain tools for development and deployment. This role is part of the Developer Productivity organization that focuses on enabling developer productivity by providing a world class engineering system. Be in the center of transformation that FAST team is bringing to life by building CI/CD solutions that deliver C.O.T.S and custom in-house applications in Azure at scale. Our solutions also power our on-premises to cloud migrations. The team is driving next-gen compute initiatives heavily leveraging containers and Kubernetes. Our mission is empowering service and application owners to go from idea to MVP ASAP. Responsibilities: • Key Software contributor to automation and continuous delivery services for Azure Infrastructure used by Applications Developers across LinkedIn. • Produce high quality, build and deployment software that is unit tested, reviewed, and continuously integrated • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables related to your technical expertise and assigned domains • Mentor and train other team members on coding standards, CI/CD, and infrastructure architecture related to your technical expertise and assigned domains • Participate in 12x7 on-call rotation, and be available to work with global teams in the event of critical outages Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or in any technical discipline • 5+ years of experience in cloud-focused software development in C#, Python, Java or Perl, software design and architecture. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Software Development and Agile software development practices • Experience in build and release engineering, including the creation of CI/CD pipelines, and the authoring of integration and unit tests • Experience in C# with experience of object-oriented programming and software design principles. • Experience in working with MVC frameworks such as ASP.NET, Spring, Spring Boot, Play, Flask, etc. • Experience in API design and development, with experience in building performant and scalable systems. • Deep technical experience focusing on designing and implementing solutions for enterprise users and developers • Experience building infrastructure automation and cloud management platforms at scale • Experience building cloud-native, event-driven software for serverless infrastructures • Experience in managing and deploying cloud-based resources via declarative cloud management languages (e.g. ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation) • Experience deploying and managing cloud-native infrastructure in Azure • Experience with microservice technologies, such as Service Fabric, Kubernetes, and their companion tools • Experience with the Azure DevOps or comparable cloud-based Continuous Delivery platforms • Experience with GitHub and GitHub Enterprise Suggested Skills: C#, or Python or Perl or Java Azure (Preferred)or any cloud experience, DevopsJob tags
