Job Title: Senior Policy Counsel

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Delhi, India

Experience: 4+ years

Responsibilities:

1. Policy Research and Advocacy:

• Conduct in-depth research on laws and policies in technology law, human rights law, and IPR laws.
• Draft policy submissions, advocacy documents, and position papers with precision and attention to detail.
• Provide well-informed organizational viewpoints on policy matters.

2 Publication and Analysis:

• Contribute to the monthly publications on the SFLC.in website, including articles, opinion pieces, and other literature.
• Stay abreast of developments in privacy, data protection, free speech, net neutrality, and other relevant areas.
• Analyse and communicate policy perspectives on emerging issues

3.. Case Studies and Collaborative Initiatives:

• Conduct research and case studies on laws related to Information Technology, Data Privacy, and Intellectual Property Rights.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to further the organisation's policy goals.

4.Leadership and Mentorship:

• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the policy team.
• Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and policy discussions.

Qualifications:

• Law/Policy degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant Policy experience, preferably in technology policy.
• Excellent academic credentials and research skills.
• Familiarity with the Open Source Ecosystem.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
