Job description

We are looking for an experienced Communication and Outreach Specialist to work with us on developing and implementing effective outreach strategies. Your main responsibility will be to identify outreach opportunities and maintain effective communications with thought leaders, subject matter experts, and the community, in order to increase awareness of our organization.

The perfect candidate for this position will have several years of experience in Communications, Business Administration, or Public Relations, and will also be an expert in running effective communications campaigns.

As part of your duties, you will be establishing partnerships with local agencies and businesses, and creating and coordinating various outreach materials and events.

As a Communication and Outreach Specialist at our organisation, you will be expected to collaborate and consult with heads of other departments in our organization as well as other businesses and companies to deliver on key projects.

Responsibilities

• Generate awareness and interest in our organization through a wide range of outreach and communication activities including social media, email and print communication, presentations, and online events
• Develop and oversee the execution of the overarching communications strategy
• QA all communications materials to ensure that all communications are aligned with our brand, messaging, and tone of voice
• Identify outreach opportunities by maintaining active communication with other businesses and our community
• Research, collect, and analyze data to help devise strategies for the best outreach and communications practices
• Collaborate with other departments and cross-analyze data for outreach outcome statistics
• Maintain and update a list of media contacts and foster relationships with key journalists in Education
• Organize and enable coverage of activities and events and provide media representatives with relevant information

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Human Resources
• Experience in a leadership role in Communications, Project Management, or a related department
• Proven experience in leading large projects with limited deadlines
• Experience researching and acquiring market and trend data using multiple sources
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide audience
• Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize duties
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
• Understand principles of copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
• Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
• Impeccable copywriting and copy editing abilities
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline is preferred
