Production Technology Engineer

Job description
Responsibilities will include:
- Working on projects for new systems and operations, working proactively under the leadership of the Head of Production Engineering and in collaboration with all other departments to efficiently deliver those projects.
- Responsible for supporting color and audio workflows.
- 1st and 2nd line resolution of technical issues, including hardware, software, related peripherals, AV equipment, email, and asset management.
- Coordinating with our AV Postproduction Support person on regular maintenance of edit suites (which includes workstations, AJA/BMD video hardware, displays, AV equipment, etc.).
- Collaborating with the infrastructure team on the deployment and management of post-production systems.
- Ensuring implementation and compliance of client security measures with all systems
- Producing and maintaining clear and thorough documentation of all postproduction systems and pipelines.
- Performing user orientation and technology training for new employees and freelancers in support of our AV Postproduction Support person.
- Help out the team with machine/user setups.
- Engineer and build storage systems as required by the business, in coordination with the global team and stakeholders.

Essential skills will include:
- Excellent knowledge of macOS and Mac hardware.
- Experienced Windows administrator who understands Active Directory, desktop configuration and deployment management tools.
- Strong experience supporting AV systems, hardware and software.
- Experience supporting audio engineering workflows and hardware – with ProTools preferred.
- In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software.
- Some experience or understanding of CGI workflows and pipelines for postproduction, and the use of software such as Autodesk Maya, Nuke, Cinema 4D and V-Ray.
- Working knowledge of how to implement secure workflows and processes to MPAA/TPN standard or equivalent.
- Experience supporting Teradici PCoIP.
- Configuration and management of rendering system/s (e.g. Deadline, Tractor, etc.)
Desirable skills may include:
- Experience working with Linux.
- Experience supporting Autodesk Flame or related products.
- Knowledge of colour management and supporting the needs of a grading workflow - with DaVinci Resolve preferred.
Experience supporting audio workflows and hardware.
