Job Summary:
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Babil Games, you will be a vital part of our commitment to maintaining high-quality gaming experiences. You will work alongside a skilled team of QA professionals to ensure the quality of our games while optimizing resource utilization. This position requires an in-depth understanding of quality assurance, with a focus on implementing effective testing processes within budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Strategy:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game developers and project managers, to create comprehensive test plans and strategies for various game titles.
Define test objectives, scope, and success criteria for each project.
Identify and prioritize test cases based on the game's features and player expectations.
Mentorship and Leadership:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers, assisting in their professional growth.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practices and quality standards within the QA team.
Coordinate and distribute tasks among team members.
Bug Identification and Reporting:
Document and report defects using bug tracking tools, including clear and concise descriptions, steps to reproduce, and severity assessments.
Collaborate with the development team to resolve identified issues, providing detailed feedback and assistance in the debugging process.
Generate regular reports on testing progress, bug status, and overall quality. Communicate issues and risks to project stakeholders.
Testing & Documentation:
Execute test cases, both manually and through test automation, to identify bugs, glitches, and gameplay issues.
Perform compatibility testing to ensure games run smoothly on different hardware configurations.
Develop and maintain test scripts and automation frameworks to streamline repetitive testing processes.
Continuously improve and optimize automation scripts to increase test coverage and efficiency.
Conduct performance testing to assess the game's response time, scalability, and stability under different load conditions.
Check the game for language and cultural issues, and ensure that it is suitable for a global audience.
Create and review test cases and test scenarios, ensuring they cover all aspects of the game, including gameplay, functionality, performance, and user interface.
Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate effectively with development teams, providing timely feedback and updates.
Communicate test progress, findings, and any potential risks to project stakeholders.
Work closely with community managers and player support teams to gather user feedback and integrate it into the testing and development process.
Quality Standards:
Define and maintain quality standards and best practices for game testing and QA processes.
Ensure that these standards are consistently applied across projects.
Continuously seek ways to improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, game development, or a related field.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in quality assurance, with a strong background in the gaming industry.
Proficiency in using bug tracking and test management tools.
Solid knowledge of various gaming platforms and their technical requirements.
Experience in test automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#, etc.).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
A passion for gaming and a deep understanding of game design and mechanics.
