Job description
- As a central control specialist, your mission is to empower the customer centers in commissioning central controllers
- You shall achieve this by remotely supporting the field service technicians around the world from request until follow-up
- Additionally, you will be tightly integrated in the technical support team of Belgium to empower the central controlling experts in their mission
- In this function, you will be an essential part of Optimization hub and achieving our targets in the sustainability pillar
Role:
- You will give technical support on central control products.
- You will solve simple to complex technical queries from customer centers related to commissioning, troubleshooting & fine tuning the algorithms.
- You will participate in meetings with Belgium experts to discuss persistent issues, complex bugs.
- You will assist in accountability by indicating potential improvement & critical issues to our Belgium partners.
- You will manage & ensure the response time to each request, understanding the priority in the big picture.
- You will be expected to achieve the standards of the technical support manager in the principal office.
- You will receive central control commissioning requests from various customer centers around the world.
- You will be ensuring that the compressor room is suitable by analyzing all the necessary prerequisites. You will proactively help the customer center to find solutions prior to commission.
- You will remotely support the customer center during commissioning.
- You will follow-up after commissioning on the installation and take corrective actions if necessary. You will ensure that the request of the customer is met (stability & reliability, energy savings, ).
- You will manage & ensure that field technician can work as optimally as possible and that the impact of the commissioning to the customer is minimized.
- Assist manager technical support for driving success & growth of global technical remote support.
- You will be integrated into the working of technical support of the principal office. You will contribute to regular team meetings.
- Next to your daily task of commissioning & support, you will be working in team locally and internationally
- As such you are not only user of the products, but we also expect your valuable feedback on further process improvements, technical inputs, field issues & thereby increasing operational efficiency of the field technicians
Education & Experience requirements
- BE (Mechanical, Electrical, or Related Field) with a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the compressor service industry.
- Advanced understanding of compressor rooms, air networks, and related ancillaries.
- Hands-on experience with central control (commissioning and troubleshooting), unit controls, and connectivity products.
- Hands-on experience in optimizing algorithms and debugging and controlling products.
Knowledge
- You have strong technical knowledge and specific knowledge of the Atlas Copco compressors and service products. You should have excellent knowledge of the types of units and central controllers.
- You should have knowledge on electricity (power, current, power factor, types of power networks) and compressed air networks.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. You are able to cope with language barriers.
