Shell’s Integrated Gas (IG) Business continues to strengthen the company’s position as a leading independent producer, marketer and trader of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and gas-to-liquids (GTL) products.
As the Associate maintenance officer Instrumentation, you will be part of the Maintenance Team responsible for carrying out Instrumentation discipline preventive and corrective maintenance activities for SEIPL.
What’s the role
In this role, will be accountable for the maintenance of Field Instrumentation based on approved Maintenance Strategies, Procedures and Working Instructions to ensure the Availability and Integrity of the installed field instrumentation and systems thus meeting the requirements of the company. You are expected to ensure that the operation and environmental targets are realized, and that work is executed in a safe and efficient manner. Compliance to the Company’s code of conduct, Procedures and Permit to work are mandatory requirements for this role.
Your further accountabilities include:
- Ensure compliance with the Life Saving rules.
- Ensure all HSE critical tasks are performed as identified in HSE case.
- IPF/F&G & DCS PM/CM and troubleshooting of the system.
- Review and generate the datasheet for the field instrumentation in accordance with the international standard and shell DEP compliance.
- Prepare material/space specification sheet, ensure codification and spare availability
- Apply knowledge in Custody metering systems, Gas Chromatograph, Flow computer and shall be capable of custody metering equipment troubleshooting.
- Verify contractor competencies and supervise activities to ensure compliance with HSE management systems.
- Contractor’s PM execution review (QAQC, spot checks, report findings),
- Ensures the reliability and integrity of the plant equipment by the execution of maintenance tasks and application of approved standards, procedures and schedules.
- Ensure availability of proper materials and equipment required to complete allocated tasks.
- Contribute to the reliability and integrity of the plant instrumentation equipment by application of approved standards, procedures and schedules and effect control within an ISO certified quality assurance system.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and analysis.
- Develop specific work instructions/ training modules and work plans for team members.
- Proper updating of job history in maintenance management system
- Documentation controls of all PMs
- Access tasks and ensure accurate history of maintenance & inspection activities within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Responsible for the overall efficient and safe maintenance of Instrumentation systems and associated systems.
- Carry out installation works resulting from approved plant changes/projects as directed or Area Maintenance Engineer.
- Assist Maintenance Engineer/ Planner in controlling and planning of activities.
- Establish materials and equipment required to correctly complete all allocated tasks.
- Participate in team building activities.
- Inspect materials at warehouse as per PO & technical specifications.
- Interface with other maintenance/service department staff to coordinate breakdown or routine maintenance work on facilities and plants.
- To become approved as a Competent Electrical Person for Low Voltage Equipment and Instrument Isolation.
- Skill level for Vibration monitoring system.
- Provide job execution plan for corrective maintenance associated to instrumentation.
- Develop KNOWLEDGE competency in SPI or similar system, shall be able to generate loop drawings and small modifications to SPI as per MOC requirement.
- Develop KNOWLEDGE/SKILL competencies for HART configuration and all field instrumentation.
- Develop KNOWLEDGE competency of Plant change system and demonstrate adherence.
- Commissioning KNOWLEDGE competency for Plant change and small Project work.
- Raise suggestions for Improved Reliability ideas to Instrument systems.
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from individuals with a minimum of a Diploma in Instrumentation with at least 7-10 years’ experience in LNG Terminal maintenance or similar Oil & Gas setup.
Beyond that, we’d hope to see the following qualities and experience:
- Analytical thinking, problem solving, Trouble shooting skills, People management skills, interpersonal relationship skills, communication skills in English.
- Other necessary experience includes proven facilitation experience, good presentation and writing skills, appreciation of cultural diversity, and focus on continuous learning and improvement.
- Working in an environment that is challenging and encourages efficient work processes, through ownership at all levels, technical competence, continuous improvement, multi-disciplinary team working with delegated leadership.
- Demonstrating safety leadership, Coaching, Motivation and development of team
- Ability to work in a team of multicultural environment and able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Fluency in both written and verbal English is mandatory.
- Strong command of business-level written and spoken English and other Indian languages Gujarati / Hindi (Additional value).
