Introduction to Role:

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of data governance As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in safeguarding AstraZeneca's data assets, ensuring they are used to improve value while maintaining legal, ethical, and security standards. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in data governance strategy & operations, data standards management, data quality management, and data policy, compliance & risk management. You will collaborate with peers and team leaders to coordinate and support data projects within your specialist area.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will contribute to the development of Data Governance goals and roadmap for specific projects. You will understand and raise any data governance demands from forums and internal partners. You will also be involved with the design and implementation of Data policy that balances benefit and risk for responsible use. You will define and complete compliance control checks in your area and/or project to ensure processes follow defined policies. Furthermore, you will contribute to the designs and implementation Data Standards framework and metrics. Lastly, you will input to change and improvement initiatives related to data literacy, culture, and compliance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, data or technology field or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • Demonstrable experience and subject matter expertise within the data disciplines and domains.
  • Knowledge about standards, data management and IT management regulations, policies, and principles.
  • Demonstrated experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, distributed team.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated project change management skills.
  • Fluency in English.

Candidates should be willing to work in UK time zone

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Certification in Business Administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics, or related subject area. Applicable domain knowledge, e.g. Therapy Area or Function.
  • Experience of Data Governance tools such as MDG, RDM and MDM.
  • Experience of Data Product Governance.
  • Experience of Data Cataloguing tooling such as Collibra.
  • Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
  • Data Governance and Data Management education and certifications.
  • Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.
  • Experience in data ownership or stewardship.
  • Consistent track record of publishing relevant data governance and policy topics in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scientific proceedings.
