About the role:

Gartner information security teams are a group of passionate information security professionals dedicated to Protecting, Detecting, and Responding to threats and contingencies. Our team is filled with lifelong learners who are consistently researching ways to better defend and stay ahead of the threats of tomorrow. We are a collaborative group, where good ideas come together whether they come from the most experienced or the newest members of the team.

We are looking for a well-rounded and motivated Sr. Security Analyst to join its Business Information Security Office which is responsible for Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (Resilience) of Gartner's people, process and applications. full lifecycle management of vulnerabilities for all Gartner assets, products, and applications. Additionally, the team works closely with key resources from both Gartner IT and internal business teams to shift left in our security culture and continuously improve Gartner's security posture.

What you will do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain business continuity and IT disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including (but not limited to) key responsibilities like:
    • Risk assessments
    • Business impact analysis
    • Recovery strategy consultation
    • Supporting documentation of recovery procedures
    • Facilitating periodic audits/exercises
  • Conduct regular audits/exercises to ensure that our process, people & applications are resilient.
  • Be a security consultant and the bridge between business & IT teams before, during and after contingencies.
  • Assist in crisis management situations as needed.
  • Identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to prepare for contingencies.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior management regarding resilience status and incident response.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest information technology security trends and developments
  • Participate in the creation and/or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Support or self-start initiatives and projects to improve the organizations security culture.
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify, respond to, and remediate information security issues.

What you will need:

Ideal candidates should have 3-5 years of experience with at least 2 years in business continuity & disaster recovery projects, specifically having conducted business impact analysis, enabled teams in building recovery strategies and effectively testing the same. Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills along and the ability to consistently evaluate and reprioritize based on status quo.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Disaster Recovery planning
  • Strong functional knowledge of business continuity/disaster recovery processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with AWS/Azure
  • Experience with various information security controls, including disaster recovery, risk management, incident management, and crisis management
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex security issues to non-technical staff
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
