Responsibilities
- Lead development projects, engage with the project stakeholders, collect high-level requirements, test different machine learning models, and design and deliver systems with machine learning at their core
- Design and maintain Machine Learning pipelines - data ingestion, feature engineering, modelling including ensemble methods, predicting, explaining, deploying, and diagnosing overfitting
- Research and develop analysis and optimization methods to improve the quality of Oversight's user-facing analytics
- Identify and present opportunities to leverage advanced analytical methods to solve difficult, non-routine business problems
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, training, and guidance to team members
Education, experience, and skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with Data Science Emphasis and 5 years of Data Science experience (emphasis in Machine Learning)
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of work experience using Python
- Applied experience with machine learning on large datasets
- Strong SQL experience in processing and analyzing data
- Strong quantitative analytical experience, including hands-on use of statistics, regression modelling, decision trees, random forest, support vector machine, kernel-based methods, clustering, and similar methods
- Ability to analyze a wide variety of data: structured and unstructured, observational and experimental, to drive system designs and product implementations
- Knowledge of probability and statistics, including experimental design, predictive modelling, optimization, and causal inference
- Understanding the different machine learning approaches and techniques and being able to research and test new ones
- Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction
- Hands-on experience with Linux distributions
- Strong communication and data presentation skills
