Q2 is seeking an innovative and passionate
Quality Engineering Manager to help build an industry changing fintech platform. Founded in Austin, TX, we are a growing company committed to building stronger communities by strengthening their financial institutions. As a team manager, you will be on the ground floor of a new product that is growing quickly after a successful proof of concept and beta.
This position is ideal for an experienced test manager who is passionate about building testing teams from scratch, driving conversion of manual tests to automated tests, testing complex products requiring high scalability and reliability. You will provide leadership and bring a strong quality-focused background to the team, working to develop and improve test effectiveness and efficiency.
Responsibilities - Drive end to end quality of a product/project design that may cross multiple teams within business unit
- Define overall product/project testing strategy and developing test plans/test cases
- Identify appropriate tools, testing methodology, automation approach
- Propose new approaches to achieve product goals and timelines with quality in a cost-effective manner
- Responsible for executing manual/automated tests and reporting defects with the help of QE team members
- Work closely with Product Owners, and Developers in ensuring high quality products
- Meet product requirements: proactively propose solutions and resolve project dependencies within scope of influence
- Should be hands-on whenever required involving automation of both UI and API and maintain the CI/CD environment
- Manage through setting and delivering on expectations: set goals that are achievable and measurable, monitor and trend possible changes and set expectations of stakeholders/customers on final deliverable
- Mentor and coach junior QE resources. Provide them direction, training and guidance on a continuous basis
- Exposure to penetration testing and vulnerability assessment activities of complex applications, operating systems, wired and wireless networks, and mobile applications/devices
- Exposure to security testing plans which has all key components on Data security, Data Loss and Prevention, Authentication, Authorization, Access Controls etc.
- Exposure to Performance testing.
- Develop/Publish meaningful metrics to reflect the true status of any given Product/Solution
- Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business partners
- Differentiate issues that can be resolved from those that require escalation; create appropriate level of visibility toward issues
- Communicate clearly, share information regularly, be proactive in reaching out to communicate both good and bad news
- Working globally and adapt to changing environments as needed
Experience And Knowledge - Minimum 6+ Years of experience including test planning, automated test execution, team leader and people management.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 4+ years of experience. Typically requires 1-2 years managing and developing employee
- Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems or similar relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of application development processes and at least one programing language preferably Python
- Hands on experience with testing frameworks both licensed and Open sources for UI and API automation.
- Applicable knowledge of Windows client/server, Unix/Linux systems, VMware/Xen, and cloud technologies such as Salesforce, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Self-driven, Critical thinker and problem solver
- Experience working with global teams, Excellent organizational and time management skills
