Job Description:
As an IT Security Engineer at Programmers.io, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and ensuring the integrity and security of our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify security vulnerabilities, implement robust security measures, and mitigate potential risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the IT infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Design, implement, and maintain security protocols, procedures, and controls to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
Monitor and analyze security systems, logs, and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure secure coding standards are followed.
Manage and maintain security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus software, and endpoint security solutions.
Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance within the organization.
Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and industry best practices to proactively address emerging security risks.
Participate in incident response and forensic investigations to analyze security breaches and implement remediation measures.
Develop and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and external security partners to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.
Proven experience working as an IT Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, and encryption.
