System Administrator Manager

In our APAC IT organization, we are looking for a motivated System & Storage Specialist who will be technically spearheading the Linux, AIX and VMware domain. You will primarily be part of APAC System and Storage team to plan and implement evolutions in terms of internal IT Infrastructure technologies. You will also be part of multiple projects around Linux, Unix, VMware & Storage Infrastructure and will support the APAC business needs.

Role & Responsibilities

. Lead the Linux, AIX & VMware Infrastructures projects and make sure that the global standards are defined and implemented.

. Lead the APAC wide business operations around Linux, AIX & VMware Infrastructures

. Own the L2/L3 ticket pools and make sure that defined Pool SLAs are met

. Work on external & internal tickets by engaging with the ticket owners from different geos to understand their business requirements

. Patch/Upgrade OS, firmware periodically across APAC

. Work with remote IT teams to install/replace new systems as and when it's required

. Keep monitoring the IT Infrastructure performances and proactively intimate the management if there is any upgrade/replacement required.

. Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs

. Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments

. Coordinate with business leaders to understand and meet their expectations.

. Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration and deployment to infrastructure as application leveraging automation/configuration management technologies

. Maintain all relevant IT documentation on day-to-day basis

. Help the automation team with feedback on how to automate the recurring operational tasks and if possible, contribute code in that front

. Be part of on call Process across APAC which include being available on phone during the week nights and weekends as per a pre-defined shift roster which will have additional monetary benefits

. Quick understanding of the IT infrastructure, various process & policies and tools and being aligned, focusing on continuous IT delivery in complex IT environment.

. Managing the expectations of IT and business stakeholders, Participating and delivering various critical IT projects, Managing SLA and improve user satisfaction.

Qualifications/Experience

• B. Tech / B.E (CS / IT / E&TC) from premier institutions with good academic track records
• Looking for 4-7 years of experience
• Overall Industry experience of 6-9 years in the Linux, AIX & VMware Infrastructure support.
• 5-6 years of hands-on experience on managing Linux L2/L3 issues and large Linux/Unix infrastructure.
• Hands on Experience in Redhat, SLES OS administration
• Hands on Experience in managing physical servers
• Hands on experience on configuring DNS, DHCP, NFS, AUTOFS, Sendmail, Crontab etc.
• Good understanding of Shell Script, Ansible, Python, rest API etc.
• Good understanding of networking concepts like LAN, VLANS, Routes etc.
• Experience in working in an international team
• Experience on an SLA oriented ticketing tool
• Strong Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex Linux OS issues.
• Adaptability, ability to learn faster, independent, responsible and diligent.
• Good team spirit and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills and analytical skills
• Achieves performance goals and objectives in line with the team strategy.
• An Evangelist in terms of cyber security and its latest happenings around the glob
• Professional certification such as RHCE or VCE or AIX
