Job description
Responsibilities
- Undertaking project tasks and engineering design on water and wastewater projects at
various stages in the project life cycles, while ensuring technical excellence and best practice
to specifications.
- Undertaking design of civils infrastructure for water & wastewater projects.
- Utilizing expertise of general civil designs and acting as a technical resource within project
team.
- Working with diverse teams of engineers, designers and drafters from project planning to
detailed design.
- Ability to coordinate and drive issues to the end by proactive communication with other
engineers.
- Reviewing project documents and drawings for technical quality and accuracy.
- Maintaining quality throughout a project.
- Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
projects and;
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 8 years of Civil Engineering experience. Out of which at least 8 years in Civil
engineering design of water distribution system, pipelines, pumping stations and treatment
facilities.
- Strong Technical Civil design skills in the areas of pump stations, water pipe and sewer pipe
design & inter discipline interaction with mechanical, electrical, structural and geotechnical
engineering teams
- Prepares and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, diagrams, and details Utilizes advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil engineering elements such as utilities and earthworks.
- Participates in constructability reviews as part of an integrated civil engineering team of
architects, mechanical, structural and electrical engineers etc.
- Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship
between drawings and specifications.
- Proficient knowledge in the use of Excel spreadsheet and database tools;
- Demonstrated analytical (data collection, compilation and analysis), communication (verbal
and written – including technical writing), reporting, and project management skills; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Revit and Civil 3D would be advantageous
- Experience of having worked in international projects – Canada experience is preferred
Qualifications
- An undergraduate or Post graduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
