What's the role?
The SW Quality Manager manages risk and quality for a SW product segment in the context of global Customer Application Software Projects from ideation to deployment and as such is part of the team establishing a new pillar of Hilti innovation and of strategic importance to the long-term company success.
This role interacts with customers, business units, markets, software development and quality assurance partners, support functions, all across the globe, to ensure high quality levels and minimized risks to the company in providing value creating software solutions on a global scale, always in the context of hardware, software and services coming together in creating a unique solution offering for Hilti customers.

What does the role involve?
The purpose of the role is to design, develop and execute all areas of quality management in IT. The role involves defining and operating Tests System Landscape. The job holder needs to be accountable for test case quality and act as a release manager.

What you need is:
- Manage risks and quality for a SW product segment
- Develop and implement quality strategies for client-server, web and mobile customer facing SW applications
- Drives Quality First Thinking
- Actively participate in product feature and design discussions; help shape products with a defects mindset
- Drive root cause analysis, problem-solving, after-action reviews, and preventive actions for software application incidents and bugs
- Professional and efficient handling of incoming product complaints for dedicated portfolio; execute root cause analysis and drive complaint resolution towards sustainable implementation
- Work closely with Customer Support to monitor pro-active software quality on the market
- Conduct technical risk assessments such as FMEA and other methodology
- Adjust approach and level of precision as each project dictates
- Influence, network and collaborate with internal and external team members at all levels of the global organization
- Ensure Quality Reporting to Leadership Team
- Perform internal process audits if needed
- Additional duties, as assigned

Functional Expertise:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field required
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in global operation, SW quality
in an agile and global environment, preferably with an engineering context - Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with software development processes, coupled with an analytical and structured approach to software design and problem resolution
- Ability to conduct technical risk assessments, such as using FMEA methodology and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Ability to problem-solve, plan, and organizational projects effective and efficiently, while adhering to project specifications and deliverables
- Ability to influence, network and collaborate with internal and external team members at all levels of the global organization
- Good knowledge in client-server, web client, mobile client and backend services testing.
- Ability to create and implement testing strategy and methodologies in different application products
- Expert Experience with agile software development process; strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and a developer background in n-tier client-servers solutions
- Masterful experience in agile development methodologies
- Prior experience leading and working with geographically distributed development teams
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences on a global scale
- Strong presentation skills to a diverse audiences on a global scale
- Experience in engineering software application is a plus
- Strong technical and process analytic skills is a plus

- Strong customer focus by ensuring defect free delivery of SW solutions to Hilti’s customers
- Awareness of SW testing methodology and tools, market development and trends
