Job description
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the OB incharge, Production Incharge, Collery Engineer to efficiently schedule the drilling and blasting requirements and minimise interruption of other mining operations.
- Select best blasting material and Ensure deep hole blasting operations are carried out in a cost effective manner.
- Undertake controlled blasting to comply with restriction of ground vibration, sound air pressure, fly rocks and shattering effect as laid down in the DGMS permission
- Resolve blasting technical problems.
- Supervise daily drilling and blasting activities
- Prepare, monitor and update production data associated with blasting activities. Review Survey data, Q/A data, digging sheets and blast videos to determine areas of further improvement.
- Coordinate with explosive suppliers to deliver reliable and cost effective supply of the products and services.
- Inspect drill and blast areas periodically.
- Perform accurate design duties for blast hole pattern design and 'tie-in'/charge design to ensure effective blasting activities
- Ensure safety precautions in blasting operations as per DGMS guidelines/ company standards. Submit monthly return, vibration study, loading sheet preparation to DGMS
- Keep record of monthly explosive requirement and indenting of explosive accordingly. Plan and ensure timely procurement of blasting materials
- Develop detailed safe work procedures for blasting operations. Participate in safety investigations when required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant DGMS statutory requirements and legislation.
- Ensure reconciliation of blasting material and update in PESO online module. Submit RE11,RE12,RE13,RE3,RE5 and quarterly return on time
- Provide training opportunities to the blasting team and enhance their skills
- Establish a system to identify, evaluate and implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives/projects in blasting operations
- Monitor and supervise explosive magazine operations
Qualifications Qualifications ;--Essential: B.Tech/B.E-Mining with First class Manager's Certificate - Coal
Experinece :- 7-15 years experience. At least 5 years experience in open cast mine drilling and blasting
