The Opportunity:
Role Purpose
Wholesale Credit & Lending (WCL) is an important contributor to the Group: it supports 80% of the revenues generated by Wholesale banking and forms a key part of the Group-wide transformation.
WCL Transformation & Delivery is responsible for delivering high priority programmes to simplify, digitise at scale and automate the credit and lending journey, as well as supporting the creation of a new, globally consistent credit and lending organisation serving both GB and CMB business lines which collectively build towards our vision of becoming a leader in digitally enabled domestic and cross border lending across network, by improving customer experience generating competitive advantage through use of data and participation in emerging borrowing models.
The Business Analyst will work with colleagues across multi-disciplinary teams to produce and own business user requirements, functional specifications and business cases, validate and prioritise project requirements.
What you’ll do:
Key Responsibilities
- The Associate, Business Analyst will primarily be responsible for:
- Identify, review and analyse business processes and systems to understand design implications across Business, IT and Operations
- Support reengineering of processes, where process is one of the many parts of the change, and provide detailed guidance on process design (considering risk, end-to-end and cost)
- Support with impact assessment for change requests on design, scope, time, budget or effort on programme plan and provide accurate estimates for handling new requirements, design changes and scope
- Support the development of control structures and performance scorecards (KPIs) to ensure project milestones, budgets, resources and employee engagement aspirations are met, implementing mitigating actions as appropriate
- Work with markets/regions to understand regulatory, customer and competitive landscape
Customers / Stakeholders
Primary customers are:
- WCL functional and delivery teams
- Other business areas and lines as appropriate
- Group Functional Teams – e.g. Risk, Group Finance, IT
- Operational support teams
- Group & Regional teams
- Other Risk sub-functions – global and regional
The Associate, Business Analyst will lead, contribute, challenge and advise effectively on areas within their scope, including internal committees / forums and support the provision of transparent and insightful feedback on status. They will communicate with clarity, impact and passion to inspire audiences and create a shared understanding and commitment.

- Software, data and service vendors
Leadership & Teamwork
- Support the team by quickly familiarising new team members with the team’s purpose and expectations
- Support Programme leadership in communication of strategic direction across global, regional and country structures

- This role may occasionally lead other analysts on projects or programmes
