Job Profile: Solar Design Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Solar Design Manager to join our team, responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of solar power projects. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of solar power plant design, from basic engineering to detailed project execution, and demonstrate expertise in electrical engineering concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic and detailed engineering, owners engineering, and lenders engineering activities.
- Provide support in pre-bid engineering, review design documents, and generate BOQ/BOM.
- Develop detailed engineering layouts for PV plants, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection, and other electrical components.
- Perform electrical calculations and studies, including cable sizing, earthing, battery sizing, substation design, and transmission line studies.
- Conduct electrical system studies (LT/HT) such as short circuit, load flow, relay setting, and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines, including IS, IEC, IEEE, and guidelines issued by CEA, CERC, MNRE, etc.
- Independently prepare techno-commercial feasibility studies, detailed project reports, and energy yield assessments for solar PV projects.
- Conduct energy yield simulations using software such as PV SYST, SAM, and Autocad.
- Experience with storage concepts will be an added advantage.
- Capable of conducting research, leading a team, and performing site surveys as required.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in the renewable industry, with a focus on solar power projects.
- Minimum 25MWp overall experience, including a compulsory single plant experience of 10MWp capacity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Essential).
- Master's degree in Energy Studies, Energy System Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Solar Energy (Preferable).
Skills and Attributes:
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-disciplined with the ability to work on multiple projects as a team member or project manager.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
