Job description
- To contribute for Mechanical Infrastructure projects, such as sewer and watermains, pumping stations, treatment plants, recycled water, dams, desalination plants, preparing GA drawings and piping layouts, and process.
- Must have the ability to develop Plant 3D layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts. Develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor Data and 3D drawings for water treatment plant projects.
- Responsible for generating and maintaining federated BIM compliant models, undergoing clash detection and reporting, database management and manipulation in compliance with client BIM.
- Support on piping task of utilities infrastructure CAD team delivering wet utilities (including Wastewater / Water Sewage Pumping Station and Water management for municipal service) deliverables in compliance.
- Preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings, using Plant3D /AutoCAD Autodesk software with quality and accuracy.
- Responsible for the preparation of Bill of Materials, Quantity take-off’s and schedules for equipment, piping and accessories associated with water projects and WSP/client standards.
- Take ownership for large and small projects, and conduct meetings, check ins, design reviews with clients, engineers, other design staff showcasing a high level of technical and professional acuity.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk CDE (Common Data Environment).
- Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process.
- Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD or piping ISO drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
- The ability to creates and modify detailed engineering drawings using 3D Autodesk software packages based on information supplied by engineers and designers.
- Create and Draft PFDs, PIDs, work on equipment and piping 3D model development.
- Develop overall piping plans, general layouts, isometrics, plot plans, and other project specific details. Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data.
- Liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate 3D Model design processes and production.
- Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
- Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with Client drafting standards, Australian Standards and other relevant standards as required by local and federal legislation.
- Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Communicate with internal peers and project team and may be required to answer questions regarding deliverables.
- Responsible for CAD tasks (3D, 2D, collaboration and management) as directed by the CAD Manager and Engineer.
- Carry out audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement
corrective measures where required. - Be willing to develop and learn new skills and software, cross discipline minded (understanding structural requirements, Civil requirements) and implementing those design requirements into your models / drawings.
- Ensure models / drawings accuracy based on BIM standards and BIM project workflow criteria / checklist.
- Clean up and synchronize models/drawings on a daily basis to the cloud collaboration platform.
- Ensure all productions are completed on schedule or in a timely manner.
- Report regularly to BIM Lead / BIM Coordinator on the progress of work.
- Ensure all exported information are recorded in the correct directory.
- Responsible to participate and support the Company’s SHEQ within their scope of duties.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines regarding design-changes and model changes.
- Adhere to the BEP and BIM project workflow criteria.
- Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.
- Setting up of Seed and Model/Plant 3D Templates.
- Publish drawing sets to the cloud for professional team review and mark-up.
- Export NWC/IFC and other formats for collaboration internally and externally.
- Mentor, train and develop junior staff members and guide them on best practice engineering and design principles. Improving efficiencies and task management for better client outcomes.

Mandatory Skills

Software Proficiencies
- Mandatory proficiencies in Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Preferred: Revit MEP, Civil 3D, 12D, Infraworks, etc
Must have acceptable knowledge in handling Plant 3D, AutoCAD other BIM application tools and concepts of BIM. Capable of producing Drafting, Layout Plan, Long Section (Profile), Connection Details, Valve Details, Plant Details, Standard Details, Isoemetric Views, Schematics, Schedules, etc.
Must be familiar with all Plant 3D, AutoCAD layers, CTB, Template Creation & edit, 2D sheets, Title Blocks & attributes creations, Create Dynamic Blocks with parameters.
