About The Role

Reporting to the Head of ESI APAC, the candidate will be responsible for supporting in-force and new business steering based on emerging experience, monitoring key treaties and business experience on regular basis, supporting advance analytics projects within Asia pricing community and governance of experience analysis across the Asia. The candidate will also work closely with the global Experience Studies Center of Excellence(CoE).

Major Responsibilities

  • Support Steering and Monitoring of experience for key treaties and business lines at Asia level
  • Build and maintain tools and models used for experience analysis in order to achieve operational excellence in line with the L&H Experience Studies CoE
  • Ensure compliance of internal standards for experience studies across the Asia region by ensuring adherence to best practices. Conduct periodic audits to ensure this.
  • Work closely with local Experience Studies teams to develop forward looking Experience studies (ES) techniques to provide better quality ES results and to improve efficiency of ES processes across Asia
  • Train and upskill new hires for the Experience Studies teams in Asia in collaboration with the Experience Studies CoE.
  • Provide experience analysis support to local pricing teams in delivering analysis for key treaties / transactions across different Asia markets
  • Create and maintain the ES performance and ES insights dashboards – using automation to the extent possible
  • Utilize emerging technologies and analytics tools (R, Python etc) to improve the efficiency of ES process
  • Maintain and further develop the ES tools in R
  • Innovate to increase frequency of critical studies to provide quicker and more relevant support to pricing

About The Team

Experience Studies Insights team is a part of L&H Portfolio Steering and Monitoring Asia. Team consists of four members currently located in Bangalore, working closely with the Asia pricing & Portfolio management community.

About You

  • You have ability to navigate ambiguity and work independently on complex projects
  • You have cleared at least 4 exams and actively pursuing actuarial studies. Greater number of exam passes will be added advantage.
  • 2 years' actuarial experience with strong technical understanding of L&H re/insurance is preferred
  • Experience in direct insurance/reinsurance pricing and experience analysis is preferred
  • You have excellent communication, interpersonal and influential skills
  • You have strong data organization and analysis skills
  • You have the ability and courage to constructively challenge status quo, but also have the business mind-set to be solutions oriented
  • Strong interest in new technologies and open to expanding your knowledge in this area (knowledge of coding languages is an advantage)
