Role - Chief Risk Officer - Proposed Asset Management Company of Unifi Capital
Location - Chennai (Nungambakkam), in-office role.
Group Profile Unifi Capital is a 22-year-old investment management firm managing assets over INR 20,000 Cr on behalf of 10,000 clients across PMS, AIF, and advisory platforms.
Position Summary - We are looking to hire an experienced Risk Management professional to be part of the senior leadership team of our proposed Asset Management Company (AMC).
Key responsibilities would be to formulate, implement and monitor a comprehensive risk management framework encompassing all the verticals of an AMC such as operations, investments management, compliance, customer services, sales, and IT in line with extant regulations. The candidate would also be responsible for creating a risk-conscious culture within the organization and develop structured process flows for risk measurement and reporting to the CEO, Risk Management Committee (RMC), and Board of AMC and Trustees.
Desired Qualifications And Experience - CA/ FRM / CFA /or MBA from a reputable university
- Minimum 5-7 years of risk management experience in a Mutual fund (MF)/ PMS/ AIF
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and prime focus on process rigor
Key Responsibilities - Formulation, Implementation, and governance of Risk Management Framework (RMF) at both AMC and Scheme level.
- Supervising the overall risk management function relating to MF operations, including key risks such as investment risk, compliance risk, operational risk, cyber security, etc.
- Identifying, assessing, and estimating emerging risks and their impact on the AMC and mutual fund schemes.
- Reporting on the effectiveness of the RMF to the Board of AMC and Trustees. Keeping the CEO and the Board of AMC and Trustees informed of any material risk-related incidents and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensuring risk management is integrated into the organization's culture by coordinating with other CXO level officers responsible for specific key risks.
- Establishing and implementing mechanisms for early warning signals, stress testing, and fraud control.
- Perform periodic review and update the RMF as required and place the same to the RMC for approval.
- Ensuring compliance with SEBI guidelines and reporting requirements related to the RMF.
Compensation : As per industry standards with potential for significant performance-based upside.
