Job description

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vessels within the fleet. This role involves overseeing vessel operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing crew performance, and implementing safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned vessels. Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules. Ensure adherence to voyage plans and schedules. Address any operational issues promptly and efficiently. Ensure vessels comply with all relevant maritime regulations, international conventions, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure necessary actions are taken for compliance. Liaise with regulatory authorities as required. Address crew welfare issues and facilitate crew changes as necessary. Assist in the development of vessel operating budgets. Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings. Review and approve expenditures within authorized limits.

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation, Naval Architecture, or related field. Relevant maritime experience, preferably in a supervisory or management role. Holder of a valid Master Mariner license (preferred). In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, maritime management systems).

Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel as required. Ability to work outside regular office hours and be on call as needed. Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Fluency in English (additional languages may be advantageous).
