Role & Responsibilities :
Conduct Should-Cost Analysis : Perform detailed analyses to resolve estimated cost of electrical and electronics components.
Develop Cost Models : Analyze materials, manufacturing processes, and overheads to build accurate cost models.
Estimate Production Costs : Establish cost estimates for production processes and tooling fixtures. Geographic Cost Estimation : Estimate costs for targeted geographic locations as applicable and compare them with supplier quotes on need basis.
Validate Supplier Charges : Verify suppliers' one-time charges and non-recurring expenses related to tooling, fixtures, jigs, and development.
Tear Down Analysis : Own ECA part of product tear down engineering and cost analysis to understand cost structures.
Risk Evaluation and Mitigation : Identify potential risks affecting cost projections and collaborate on strategies to mitigate them.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Management : Ensure efficient TCO throughout the product lifecycle using DFX principles.
Collaboration with Multi-functional Teams : Work with Quality, product management, sourcing and other multi functional design teams to drive cost-saving initiatives.
Evaluation of Manufacturing Process : Evaluate the manufacturing processes of the supplier to make an effective cost estimate model.
Cost Trend Analysis : Analyze and anticipate cost trends and factor them for cost modelling and build a detailed database.
Alignment to Ethical Standards : Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in, Electrical engineering / Electronics / Mechatronics with 8+ years overall experience.
5+ years of validated experience in Should cost Analysis and detailed knowledge Manufacturing Engineering.
Expertise on costing tool Apriori, other tools are desirable to be known like DFMA, Costimator, NPV, TCO etc.
Experience in Electrical Components, ECA, Cables, Wire harnesses and awareness of critical qualification parameters.
Proficient with layout & drafting tools like ECAD Tools Altium, Fusion360.
Proficiency in finding out gaps for electronic cost out (VAVE) - PCB, PCBA, Component, Crafting cost out proposals.
Problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, out of box thinking and continuous learning.
