GlobalData's Industrials Custom Solutions group is integral to the success of GlobalData by enabling our clients to gain greater insight and value from data analysis and customized research. The team engages with senior business leaders to help them to find solutions to the challenges and opportunities impacting on their organization. We offer range of services but not limited to market sizing, competitive intelligence, benchmarking, M&A, due diligence support and so on.

We are currently recruiting Consultants who have an interest and expertise in delivering projects for global customers across Construction, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Renewable Energy, Metal and Mining. Focusing on critical business intelligence, researching and analyzing how the market dynamics are changing and help clients to take accurate decision based on actionable intelligence.

Role & responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Contribute, with the support of senior leaders in the team, to the understanding of the strategic choices/ problem areas
• Work with a team of consultants in delivering the project on end-to-end basis with some supervision from Senior and Managing consultants
• Analyze the data gathered, create business forecast models to predict the future business trends
• Develop high-quality reports in alignment with the client requirement
• To deliver projects successfully to clients on time and adhering within the scope and the budget. As a team member, you will be responsible for the on time delivery of your workstream(s) with zero defects

• Be a trusted and reliable member of the team
• Think out of the box, to create long-term, end-to-end perspective, and demonstrate ability to deliver high quality reports
• As a member in the consulting team, drive individual analyses and workstreams, with some oversight from senior team members
• Should be able to develop well-articulated recommendations and communicate them effectively with the team leader

Skills expected from the candidate

• Good Project Managements skills to deliver individual analyses and workstreams
• Ability to establish strong relationships with other team members
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Competent in PowerPoint and advanced Excel
• Data mining through company filings, presentations, industry statistics, government documents, and interpretation of macro-economic trends
• Understanding of the Power industry including production, equipment and services, transmission and distribution, energy storage and energy transition.

Secondary Research Skills

• Demonstrate strong research techniques when performing desk research from secondary sources.
• Ability to identify and determine authentic secondary sources for gathering the data.
• The candidate should possess the ability to segregate good data with able to reduce redundancy in the information gathered.
• Hands on experience with internationally accepted data sources such as CIDC, Factiva , Bloomberg and so on

Primary Research Skills

• Effectively conduct B2B primary interviews with guidance
• Ability to convenience the respondents in gathering real time data by adhering to the highest ethical standards adopted by GlobalData.
• Design questionnaire for primary research which adheres to the scope of the project

Data Analysis Skills

• Ability to understand client's key strategic objectives and align analysis to derive meaningful business insights.
• Should be capable of creating business model frameworks and use those to develop strategic recommendations.
• Devise clear and actionable recommendations based upon analysis and understanding of industry dynamics.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel for the data analysis by using advance data analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of forecast modelling and to be able to effectively clean input data, inspect and transform to support delivery of the project.
• Use analytical and logical reasoning to gain information/knowledge from data, to provide informed suggestions/guidance in client deliverables.
• Competent in effective inspection of outputs and able to provide clear audit trails with full explanation of all assumptions and manipulations.

Report & Presentation Skills

• Strong and impactful communication skills
• Strong report writing skills combining report structuring and strong Business English
• Producing insightful and impactful written content in presentation format.
• Experience in designing templates aligned to scope, and requirements for data.
• Fully competent at stating and defending the research methodology and sources and answering questions related to the research topic.

Preferred candidate profile

Education : MBA

Top MBA colleges in India include IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIT Departments of Management, and other popular B-Schools such as MDI Gurgaon, IMI, SPJIMR, XLRI, IMT, VIT, and others.

Experience

3-5 Years Experience is desirable in Consulting or market research and/or Strategy Analysis

Sectoral Experience

Experience in Power/Energy transition sector is desired, but a strong interest in developing knowledge in the industry would also make a candidate successful
