Job description
The PAUT Technician conducts inspections using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing techniques to assess materials, components, and structures for defects. Responsibilities include setting up testing equipment, conducting inspections, interpreting results, generating detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role involves collaborating with team members, engineers, and clients to understand inspection requirements, maintaining testing equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. The PAUT Technician must possess expertise in PAUT methodologies, have a strong understanding of relevant codes and standards, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in evaluating inspection findings.
Job Responsibilities:
Setting up and calibrating PAUT equipment according to established procedures and specifications.
Conducting inspections on materials, components, and structures using PAUT techniques to detect and evaluate discontinuities, flaws, or defects.
Interpreting ultrasonic waveforms and data to identify indications and determine their significance.
Generating detailed inspection reports documenting findings, including measurement data, indications, and recommended actions.
Collaborating with engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to understand inspection requirements and objectives.
Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment during inspections.
Maintaining and troubleshooting PAUT equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
Staying updated on industry advancements, techniques, and standards related to PAUT.
Participating in training programs and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in PAUT methodologies.
Contributing to quality assurance efforts by adhering to established procedures and standards for inspection processes.
