This position is the best suited for an aspiring individual who wants to learn, grow and contribute in the Company's fixed assets accounting operations area. What You'll Be Doing - Create fixed assets in the Company's SAP fixed assets sub-ledger and verify source data, such as purchase requisitions and purchase orders for completeness and accuracy and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis
- Assist with fixed assets physical inventory and Run and distribute fixed assets reports
- Within fixed assets area, ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance, with the Company's SOX and internal control processes in the fixed assets area
- Work with other teams, including FP&A, AP, Purchasing, Tax, and Facilities to resolve issues in the fixed asset area
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations for designated fixed assets accounts
- Prepare journal entries to record accruals, amortizations, and ensure proper balance sheet classifications
- Participate in the Company's quarterly, interim, and year-end audits of fixed assets and prepare supporting schedules (PBCs) and respond to auditor inquiries
- Provide support to cross-functional teams and special projects as needed
- Get cross-trained and learn other functions within the general ledger area in order to back-fill when others are out of office or on leave
What We Need To See - Bachelors Degree in Commerce or Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years operational experience in an accounting organization
- Experience in Fixed Assets area, (preference for SAP ECC / SAP HANA).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook) required
- Good analytical, problem solving skills, attention to detail
- Good communication skill to interact with internal/external teams across regions
- A self-starter with ability to work independently with minimum supervision to resolve moderate to complex problems
- A self-starter, with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment
