Roles And Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced
PLC Programmer specializing in Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, with a focus on designing, programming, and optimizing control systems for custom-built SPMs. The PLC Programmer will collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation of these specialized machines.
Key Responsibilities Requirements Analysis: - Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand the specific requirements of SPM projects. Translate client requirements into detailed technical specifications for PLC programming and control system design.
PLC Programming - Develop PLC programs using various programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text to control SPMs.
- Implement precise control algorithms for movement, positioning, speed, and other functions required by the SPM.
Sensor Integration And Feedback Control - Integrate input sensors, encoders, and other feedback devices into the control system.
- Develop logic for closed-loop control, ensuring accurate positioning and synchronization of SPM components.
Actuator Control And Sequencing - Design control logic for output actuators, including motors, valves, pneumatic devices, and other components.
- Sequence operations to optimize the performance of the SPM while ensuring safety and reliability.
Safety And Error Handling - Implement safety features, including emergency stop logic and fault detection mechanisms, to prevent accidents and damage to the SPM.
- Develop error handling routines to address unexpected situations and minimize downtime.
HMI Integration - Design and develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens for operators to monitor SPM status, input values, and diagnostics.
- Establish communication between PLCs and HMIs for real-time data exchange and control.
Testing And Optimization - Conduct thorough testing of PLC programs using simulation tools and on-site testing to validate the logic and functionality of the SPM.
- Analyze data and feedback from testing to optimize control algorithms for efficiency, speed, and accuracy.
Documentation And Training - Create detailed technical documentation, including PLC program documentation, wiring diagrams, logic flowcharts, and operating procedures.
- Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance staff for effective use and maintenance of SPMs.
Candidate - Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- Proven experience in PLC programming, specifically for Special Purpose Machines
- Must have worked on Siemens or Mitsubishi
- Willing to travel to client sites within and outside India (on a need basis)
