Professor of Practice - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Job Location- BML Campus Role and Responsibility The Professor’s are expected to contribute to the University in terms of teaching, industrial consulting & research, and skill development. The duties will reflect the full range of academic duties which could include (but are not limited to): The university has core courses in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship embedded across the schools namely Design Thinking and Venture Creation ( Ideas to Market ). The university also has a specialization in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and post graduate levels in the School of Engineering and Technology and School of Management of the University. The Entrepreneurship minor specialization is being currently opted for by over 10% of the student population in the School of Engineering and Technology. Some representative courses from the specialization include – Managing Technology and Innovation, New Venture Funding, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Legal aspects of Ventures and Start-Ups, capstone project etc. The role of the practitioner faculty would include Teaching undergraduate and graduate students to enhance practical applications of a particular field of study. Research leading to scholarly publications and applied outcomes (patents, Policy, advocacy, etc) Supporting students in realizing their career opportunities or serving as advisors for projects and/or project teams. Develop new electives/courses/programs that are contextually relevant to meet the demands of contemporary industry challenges. Focus considerably on building a resilient connection with the relevant industry, working on procuring industry-relevant research projects/assignments/internships, and expanding the industry-academia collaboration. Bring in relevant consulting assignments/projects funded by various national and international agencies (Government and/or industry-sponsored). Participate in scholarly activities, such as helping to develop innovative research questions, advising faculty on their research projects, or serving as a liaison between the University and industry or government. Support the building of corporate relationships to engage speakers from local industry leaders, government and experts that facilitate learning and enhance the universities reputation Desired Profile & Skill Set Strong Relationship Development skills Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written Persistent and Diligent Open to travel in entire India Eligibility: BE/ BTECH/ BSC Engineering with a first-class or equivalent Postgraduate in Management / MBA Industry experience of Minimum 5-7 years in the area of Innovation/ Product Development /Management / Production/ Project Management /Business Development Exposure to Funding Raising for research projects from government / industry PAY SCALE: Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive and commensurate with 7th Pay Grades • Flexible work hours • Professional development allowance, research grants, incentives for university services and health coverage • IPR, Technology transfer and incubation supportJob tags
