Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

To ensure the successful delivery of a major programme of change to deliver an internal rating-based (AIRB) approach to credit risk management of our Mortgage book, the Business Analyst will complete:
•    Definition of scope within a major regulatory programme
•    Formalise data requirements working closely with the Data modelling team
•    Working with Data Architects & Business teams to define best strategic solutions
•    Co-ordinating across business & control functions on supporting analysis, requirements and implementation
•    Be accountable for defining Business Outcomes and the scope of these on a project by project basis, adjusting to suit jurisdictional requirements, client impact, compliance, controls and quality
•    Be responsible for the scoping, prioritisation and detailed business requirements on behalf of the project while understanding the impact on the wider business environment
•    Establish strong relationships across technology and business areas. Be a highly disciplined analyst and organiser who is adept at delivering at pace within an agile delivery team, maintaining flexibility whilst maintaining high rigour at delivering to Barclays standards, processes and strategies

An ability to focus on the detail but also to understand and shape the strategic direction will be the key to success.


What will you be doing?

•    Facilitate requirement identification, capture and prioritisation, balancing the need for flexibility with the need for certainty ensuring that changes are delivered in a safe and controlled way
•    Contribute to the delivery of the strategic objectives of Private Bank Transaction Cycle through the provision of business analysis to P&I portfolio of projects including regulatory change technology programmes and grow-the-bank projects
•    Drive Data Analysis across multiple platforms to support the provision of accurate data for the modelling team
•    Drive Business Analysis as a clear set of deliverables that are aligned to Business Outcomes, project objectives and business strategy

•    The successful candidate will be able to identify, attempt to rectify and appropriately escalate issues and risks whilst having an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
•    The successful candidate must be able to articulate complex topics in a clear and understandable fashion to both technology and business stakeholders
•    ISEB Business Analysis
•    Degree or equivalent in an IT or Business Analysis related discipline

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Experience in a Business/Data Analyst role with strong evidence of both business and technology change delivery
•    A strong command of Data Analysis techniques using SQL queries
•    Strong financial services industry experience including a strong understanding of Credit products
•    A strong command of business analysis methodologies – including the application of industry-standard methodologies including Agile and Barclay’s software delivery lifecycle
•    A strong command of business analysis techniques – including requirements gathering and documentation, business outcomes, user stories, functional design, process flows, data analysis, logical database design
•    Strong evidence of stakeholder management.
