Job description
- Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Finance Transformation initiative that will drive effective finance support for business management; promote strong governance and control in the organization; and have a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency
- As part of this initiative, the Global Business Services ( GBS ) team will provide centralized operational financial analysis for the team overseeing this transformation from our Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, India
Build and Manage Financial Reporting Governance
- Define and establish timelines for key financial data for the GBS team; ensure delivery of all reporting requirements according to the defined deadlines
- Collect and enhance information provided to Global Executive leadership for business decisions related to GBS
- Respond to requests from colleagues and GBS management in an efficient and timely manner for various types of reports and analysis
- Coordinate with corporate and regional Tax, Accounting, Finance, COE FPA, and Audit teams as needed to establish budget/forecasts
- Ensure all aspects of GBS are embedded into the companys financial planning process
Record Monitor Day-To-Day Financial Operations
- Coordinate with GBS team leads to develop annual budget and quarterly forecasts to ensure team initiatives are supported
- Oversee the daily management of GBS, which includes tracking of travel requests and actual spend, interaction with the business partners, and finance colleagues, ensuring all objectives for GBS finance are realized
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and other reports for executive leadership monthly.
- Prepare standard and ad hoc reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs) each period for the GBS business and finance management
- Track headcount hiring, including status of hiring, changes in levels/titles, requests for changes in roles, allocation of roles within various GBS departments
- Drive continuous improvement and simplification efforts in reporting, financial processes, and tools
- Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
What you ll bring:
- Chartered Accountant
- Minimum 8-10 years of Finance and Accounting experience
- Working knowledge of SAP, other ERP and financial tools
- Working knowledge of Companies act, Indian tax laws such as, GST, Direct tax Transfer pricing
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations - particularly laws or regulations specific to Indian US
- Strong skills in reporting, budgeting, bookkeeping, tax planning
- Previous working experience in a Center of Excellence, Shared Services Center, or similar customer-facing type of environment will be a plus
- Previous experience of working with local units of large U.S. companies
- Highly developed skills in external and internal financial reporting, application of accounting principles and tax regulations, financial decision making and internal control
- Strong commercial and decision support experience in different aspects of financial management including financial planning and analyses, forecasting, and management reporting and analytics
- Strong understanding of and experience with process mapping and process improvement
- Proficiency in English
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills, and attention to detail
- International experience: Self-awareness of communication style and cultural differences
- Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with limited oversight. Strong sense of personal accountability for work tasks.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity and a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Travel Required : Need basis for training process implementation transitions
