Job description
Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting a leading global engineering service provider who are working in partnership with some of the world’s most influential names in the Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Tech, Energy, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Rail and Semi-Conductor industries.
We are seeking a Materials Engineer to join the team in support of Aerospace R & D projects on a long term contract basis with a hybrid working pattern.
The Role
Interface with materials application engineer and specification owners.
Analyse and use materials performance requirements.
Substantiate specification requirements. Write specification to meet configuration requirements.
Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required
Support and be responsive to materials engineering and sourcing customers.
Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design and materials engineering activity on assigned components.
Interface with global engineering organisations and other internal design organisations as required to support design activity on assigned components.
The Person
The Materials Engineer will be able to work on a hybrid arrangement travelling to the site in Somerset and be a specialist in writing materials specifications for aerospace or airborne vehicles. The successful person will also be subject to UK security clearance checks.
Experience Required for the Stress Engineer:
Educated to Degree level in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experienced and proven in the use of mechanical engineering software such as Ansys and Creo.
Previous experience of the aerospace or defence industries.
Prior experience with life analysis (low cycle fatigue and fracture mechanics) is preferred and the engineer should have demonstrated program management skills
